Gotoh is the only Japanese manufacturer of guitar and bass parts. Gotoh was founded in 1950 and started out as manufacturer of strings, mainly for violins and other bowed instruments. Since 1960 Gotoh has been manufacturing guitar and bass parts or as they say themselves: the metal parts for guitars and basses.
